As Silkair is not part of One World, I assume I cannot check my bags at my original destination all the way through?

do I need to clear passport control, customs in Singapore?

Can I only use the transfer desk at Changi if I have hand luggage only? Or can they locate my luggage and transfer it onto the BA flight.

Thanks
Just to answer my own question. When we checked in, in Vietnam, the Silkair check in agent checked our bags all the way though to LHR, despite our being on separate tickets, and changing carrier - Silkair to BA.

He did take some convincing that club class was the same as business class, in order to put the priority labels on our luggage.

The Transfer desk at Changi gave us our boarding passes, and off to the lounge.

All good, until we found ourselves waiting with most of the rest of our A380 for 90 mins at LHR for luggage!
