Indeed! This is crazy!!! Why would ANYONE point this out to HP? Showing some anonymous employee that you know how to beat the system can only be destructive to everyone else.
Not to everyone: Please do not demonstrate your power to find loopholes or circumvent the rules to HP employees. We are not amused.
For the record, I waited quite a while and a few failed attempts to get miles with the FTA before posting this here. I didn't want HP to see it here and close the loophole if it had not already been closed.
jan_az is correct. UA doesn't offer miles for their free tickets. However, I have a voucher in my hands that states that (unlike HP) UA
does offer miles when using their $$$ off vouchers.
