ETA: I understand why a person may want to go Thalasso to Le Moana to Vaitape to Conrad for the reasons you state but that hasn't nothing to do with if that routing is circuitous or not.
I was speaking from a cost perspective mostly - we didn't mind the hop off at Vaitape to stock up on bread and ramen ;-)
