And, since this came from the BA forum, I am going to assume that you are coming in from UK with BA, and transferring to AC to SFO.
That means you will have to clear Canadian immigration and customs on arrival, and also transfer to T1 from T3, including a baggage re-check.
I wouldn't plan on going anywhere other than the terminals.
