I’m a leisure traveller, and along with my partner we have been collecting avios for the last 12 months. We have just booked a CW return flight for 2, LHR-MEX (during the easter school holidays) using 137.500 avios, £1,200 in taxes/fees and a 2-4-1 Amex voucher. We’re pretty pleased with this, and I think we have got good value out of our avios and the voucher.
We have had one long haul business class flight with Air France previously, but usually travel economy/prem economy and our flights with ba to date have been in WT and WTP, so club world will be a new experience. Any tips on how to get the most out of our club world flights would be much appreciated.
Our flight is on a 787. Does anyone have any thoughts about reserving seats in advance? We are struggling to justify the cost, but how likely is it that we would be given 2 seats next to each other at check in?
Final question.... our flight from Mexico City leaves at 23:00. We have checked the Oneworld website and both of the lounges seem to close at 21:00. Does anyone know if the lounge is likely to be kept open, will we be given an alternative, or will we simply not have lounge access before the flight?
Thanks in advance everyone, really appreciate any information.
Chris
Welcome to Flyertalk Chris and welcome to the BA forum! I wouldn't pay to assign seats but keep an eye on the seat map regularly and if it starts looking too busy for comfort, you can always decide to pay up. There is a very very high chance that you'll be sat together anyway especially if you check in online when OLCI opens. I believe the lounge will be open till the departure of your flight.
