I just wanted to chime in and state that this is my favourite flight from US to Japan. Even when JL 1 ran, I preferred this flight as I'd rather have a connection at LAX vs. SFO due to SFO's constant fog/weather issues. In addition, I also like the departure time from HND, which gives a full day in Japan as opposed to the usual slate of 4pm to 6pm departures out of NRT. HND - YVR also has a nice departure time but I prefer to avoid the hassle of connecting in YVR to get home to the States.

I've actually been looking at airfare for this flight and for a one-way ticket in Y, the prices are completely off the charts. I expect to pay more for a one way but at almost four thousand, no thanks.
