SAA had this on an aircraft years ago - I cannot remember which one it was. But I did two trips, months apart - one from Paris, and the second from Zurich - they used to operate CDG - ZRH - JNB. And on both trips I ended up in the J class cabin with this configuration. It was horrible. I always booked a C seat in J since I had aisle access, so would be able to move around, and at least, when coming into JNB after a night flight, you get some views from windows on both sides of the cabin.
But, having windows on one side and a wall on the other is absolute hell. I am mildly claustrophobic and that freaked me out. I remember on the trip from CDG one lady who was next to the wall actually moved to the back once pax were loaded in ZRH. I think the crew managed to get her three seats near the back of the aircraft and had the decency to do as much of a J class meal service as best they could.
