Thai Airways service at BKK for F passengers really is second to none. I had a connecting flight through BKK connecting to that same 747 and they had the cart waiting to speed me from gate to my own security screening to the first class lounge and then to the next gate. Typically I'd prefer the walk after a flight, but I was thankful for it, it would have been a LONG walk. Wish I had more time to take advantage of the amenities in the lounge but I only ended up with about an hour and a half.

The newer 747 cabin is delightful. I sat in row 1 as well and even with no door to create a private suite, it was as private as you could possibly get without a door. Helped that no one was across from me. If someone was in that seat, I might have felt differently considering the proximity of the two Row 1 seats. Food was fantastic and the service on-board was just as good as the service at BKK. It felt like there was an FA per passenger on my flight, which may actually have been true since the F cabin was only half full. Well worth burning the rest of my soon to expire UA points.

It is funny you mention the galley placement because I remember thinking it was odd when I looked back and saw it, and I didn't even put two and two together at the time that by having the galley there it means the cabin just aft of F is looking at a solid wall to one side. I am not someone who gets claustrophobic, but that would be a nightmare for me on a long flight.

Beautiful TR, brought back some fond memories.
