She showed up and was very apologetic, pleading with us to take a different flight -- which turned out to be a DIRECT DL JFK>TLV arriving in TLV about 6 hours before our scheduled itinerary, still in Biz class.
For the "inconvenience" we got a decent meal, 600 euros in vouchers, and a direct flight instead of a layover in CDG.
AND, to top it all off, she escorted us through a series of backdoor corridors directly to our new gate, to the head of the line -- a little bit of the "royal" treatment.
Essentially, AF fed us and paid us to take a better flight. ;-)
Cool story. Sounds like JFK-CDG was oversold which is why they moved you to a DL flight - JV partners sharing transatlantic revenue, after all. You did them a favor and they gave you some average vouchers for rebooking an international flight (maybe for coach...most would say, if you were in paid J, they should have been offering a few thousand each).
