I'm a Silver member and called in earlier to link two separate reward bookings, one for my sister who has no status. I realise I don't get the Gold status benefit, but since it's a Christmas Eve flight, I wanted the link, in case there are any delays/cancelations and the booking agents then know we are flying together.

My point is however; the BA rep told me, that although I cannot request a seat for my sister now, when the seating is generated at check-in, it should pick up the TCP note and seat us together if possible. Is this something that anyone has heard of before?

Also, I have chosen a free exit row seat now, does that mean there is a likelihood they assign a seat for my sister next to my chosen exit seat at check-in time T-24, or perhaps move us both together to another pair of random seats?
