Arrow Distrikt Hotel Pittsburgh, Curio Collection by Hilton {US-PA}

Introduction Booked a stay here Monday through Thursday for work travel. As a Diamond member, I arrived quite a bit before the usual check-in, but was able to get checked in and take my bags to my room. The front-desk experience was fast and efficient. They promptly offered me bottled waters, told me about the property features, on-site restaurant, and the Gold/Diamond complimentary breakfast. Check In Booked a stay here Monday through Thursday for work travel. Room I was checked into a room on the 6th floor. The hallways are a bit of a maze, and the wayfinding markers hard to spot due to the coloring of the letters against the background of the wall, but I figured it out eventually. The room was clean, the fixtures were modern/trendy, and the bed was very comfortable. The view was typical for the area, but the area itself is a bit noisy, which the windows and window coverings did an OK-enough job to cover up and mask. Service My experience with the staff was entirely positive. Kudos to the front desk team, and the housekeepers also did a nice job keeping the guest room, as well as the entire property clean and fresh. Dining At first, I was apprehensive about the dining options. For Diamond members, they offered a choice of Oatmeal with fruit, Yogurt, or something else that I forget now. Although the restaurant is full service, the above was the limit of the complimentary breakfast.Due to allergies, my diet allows none of those. So I asked at the front desk if they could offer something as an alternative. They said that starting tomorrow, they have changed this, and the menu is basically anything on the breakfast menu, which I was able to choose something suitable. Had the above not happened, I would have been less than pleased with their treatment and recognition of their top elite customers, but they are doing the right thing now. The wait staff were all courteous and efficient. The food was prepared, even with my special customizations, exactly right. I very much appreciated the dining experience here. Location The location itself is on the south edge of downtown, and was about a 10 minute walk to where I needed to be. It was easily accessible by car or walking. Overall I enjoyed my experience here. I will very likely return. My only complaint was the lack of an offer to upgrade. I checked my Hilton app when I arrived, and it showed larger category rooms being available for the length of my stay, so those rooms should have been available to upgrade into, but were not offered. The Property Overall The property used to be the Salvation Army headquarters, but has been overhauled to a chic, trendy build. Each floor has these metal mural prints that are very cool to look at while you're waiting on the elevator. There is a rooftop terrace, and I believe it's Tuesday nights when they do the come one, come all Salsa Dance lessons (probably a summer only thing though). The view from the terrace is nice, you can see the Monongahela Incline going up and down across the river, and so on.
