When I used this coupon, I made my reservation online and paid for the ticket at the airport. They were very helpful over the phone (the co.com number) and even extended my reservation by a day to allow me to get to the airport to buy the ticket.
I was told that another option was to buy the ticket and send in the coupon by mail....not sure how that would work (do you get the discount up front or do they rebate the money once they receive the coupon) and I didn't ask since I was going to EWR the next day for a flight to SFO.
