Question

Thanks for the math, I didn't know where to start for the 125% etc. Still for MR without use of points or risk of not getting an e-upgrade, these YUP fares are the cats PJ's.

To your Q Point point: I am looking at a routing to SDQ via FLL for quite a lot less $$$ than via MIA or DFW which appears to involve a YUP on the YYZ/FLL part and J for FLL/SDQ ( I can't tell since it won't show me the fare rules for some reason).

It has two 356 mile legs for YYZ-LGA (for connection to FLL) , and two 852 legs (FLL-SDQ) and two 1076 (LGA-FLL) legs.

So I calculate Q Points (this flight would requalify me for PLT for 2005/06) as (852+852+1076+1076 +500+500) X 1.5 = 7,284. That takes the minimum 356 for the YYZ/LGA leg and multiplies by 1.5X for Q Points as it is either in J or YUP F, probably J.

Have I got this right?
