I save up my miles as well, but that is because I like to fly business when I fly internationally and will use an Alaska partner to do so. As long as I'm flexible in my travel days, I can almost always get the flights I want and if I book far enough out.
I don't waste miles on domestic flights, but they are sure handy for the international ones!
