2) A lot of women don't want to remove these items as it's to much time for them, understandable. So they alarm.
3) More women are screened because most men keep metals in their pockets that they can easily remove, where most women wear jewelery and other metal items that are harder to remove.

This is how it is at my airport.

My airport also screens more middle age white males who are either SSSS or ringers. So your minorites comment isn't exaclty true of the whole TSA.
