C&P was a bargain several years ago at SPG. The tiers were then realigned to make it a bit of a wash on average - a good deal when rates were high (and C&P available) and not so much at other times. I used them extensively when first introduced, but not much in the last few years.
This update makes another significant negative impact to the value of C&P. The "cost", valuing a Marriott point at 0.7 cents, has gone up an average of 16.6%. It's worst on the lower tiered properties.
Old SPG Cat 1 - from $30 and 4500 MR points (1500*3) to $55 and 3500 points for 61 properties and up to $65 and 6000MR for 54 properties that went up to Cat 2 - up 49%.
Accounting for category changes, and weighted by number of properties - SPG only.
Ouch.
