I'm guessing there's a push for them not to be seen to be flying privately especially on non-State business for public relations reasons. The optics of the Royals flying on a non-British carrier is also terrible and they are quite limited in terms of choices to the Caribbean, ergo they have to be on a knackered BA 777 (or possibly VS but BA says 'British' on the side). Doesn't explain why Catherine and William aren't in F though.
