Advance seat reservation at LA is always a bit of a hit and miss, even for Oneworld Emeralds. Sometimes it works, sometimes not, sometimes on some of the flights but mysteriously not on others. Also, sometimes it gets lost ...

Since it doesn't work well for anybody, it's quite well possible to fetch some good seats at check-in (which starts T-48h on line).
