I'd be having a chat with my clients if my time was that important to justify all the expensive travel, yet so much of it was wasted.
Why would anyone answer to clients about unpaid personal travel?
It happens often that when I get to the gate at T-20m I see the multicoloured passports licing it up, babystrollers strewn about, and a long line of pax waiting for docs check, that I feel like I don't want to fly. Do you ever have that feeling when??? This Saturday was motivating enough for me to act.
So, went back to the FCL, asked to be offloaded. First they were overly concerned there was something wrong with the flight. After assuring them this was voluntary, that I just didn't feel like going to London, the lounge agent clarified understanding that I did not want to take FRA-LHR and asked for my permission to offload, which obviously I gave. I see no reason to make a gate delay for a NOSHO. She attempted to offload, but had to call the gate as it was already under gate control. They seemed overly concerned about correcting any issue before just offloading. At no point did I sense there was animosity towards my action, actually quite the opposite. Curiosity and amusement seemed to be brightening up their otherwise dull day.
I asked if I could just hang for a bit, to which they said of course. I made it clear I didn't have any onward travel plans but wanted to relax. Went to the bar, was served a hibiki and a Tom yum soup which was what I was enjoying prior to leaving the lounge originally for the gate. Spent about 30m browsing through alternatives, and after chatting with staff and bartender about where they're from, what they'd like to see, I ended up booking to NBO via BEY. A few of them want me to send pics later. Very pleasant bunch of people. Was interesting to watch a massive rain storm effectively shut down FRA from the lounge.
Any parallel to other situations is merely by chance, and it is not my intention to claim any similarity. And yes, I would call this a pattern of actually enjoying the wonder of travel and last-minute flexibility. Of course now I am stuck in NBO with no return flight.

Kenyan immigration didn't seem to worry about this nor the lack of accommodation reservation and ET held my onward flight as the connection was about 1h and my FRA-BEY was delayed 90 minutes. Very helpful airport response indeed with two security escorts helping me navigate the terminal... last to board. It does seem BEY has a lot of guys standing around with guns and stuff... maybe some security concerns there?
And yes, as you point out this was in Germany, and the airline in question is Lufthansa, although ticketed 016. Nothing to do with Canada or its airlines, but I respond here to provide background, not to go off topic.

Had an onward flight, didn't want it (So I guess this is technically hidden city too?)... didn't feel like London, and didn't want to deal with boarding. Asked airline to deal with it. They did. I may book a safari or something, no idea yet... but not expecting to see wolves.
