There is quite a bit of discussion here about rolling vs. folding, in fact there's a current whole thread devoted to the question.

I have a number of packing cubes and tubes, my most recently purchased being Eagle Creek Specter Tech compression cubes. The Specter Tech cubes open all the way around 3 sides, the regular Specter compression only open at one end and IMO would be more difficult to pack.

I have found that rolling is not for me, I just can't get as much in and the wrinkles would be terrible. I fold to the exact dimensions of the cube and place items in the compression cubes, with shirts I'm careful to alternate the collars. I can fit 5 pair of women's pants in the Medium compression cube with no problem. The compression really does make a difference and wrinkling is minimal to zero.
