LAX-HND is showing as being operated by an A350 in May 2019. If you were changed to an A350, than that would explain why you were bumped to Y as there is no C+ on the 359.
This appears to be the case, as the website lists A350-900 for that leg; the itinerary itself wasn’t changed, just the seat class. I can’t verify what the aircraft was prior to the change as the email confirmations don’t include that info. I wonder if picking HND was now a mistake. I liked the itinerary better than NRT > SEA > PHX, plus the convenience of being closer to HND.
I’ll call tomorrow to see what options are available. We hadn’t called yet as I wanted to check here and see what was reasonable to ask for first.
