I love it when people invoke this fallacy. In any discussion of children/dogs/etc. someone will chime in with "well, adults do it too". That is illogical. The nuisances are not mutually exclusive; they are additive. It is like when people say "Oh, skydiving is safer than driving a car". Well, unless you start skydiving to work, the risk is going to be additive on the margin, not interchangeable. It's not like you are replacing driving with skydiving. You are increasing your total risk profile. Same with this sort of thing. Adding children to the lounge increases the total level of nuisance behavior. Period.
