I find that if catching one of their ridiculous fare specials and paying $700 one way, the old business class is perfectly great on TAP. I just completed my third trip with them with a new plane within Europe and old business class on such a deal. Maybe I'm lucky but I've had zero problems, the food is decent, l truly enjoy their intra-European service (I watched them go above and beyond for a couple with an infant on my most recent flight 2 days ago).

That said, we had some delays at departure that were ultimately inconsequential as we made up the time in the air and landed on time or close to with all 6 of my flights. My checked luggage on all flights has arrived on time and intact.

I've not flown transatlantic with Delta in years but I'm sure they're okay. But if you're leaning towards TAP, I mean, they're totally fine in my book. I wouldn't hesitate to fly them again. Especially if l could score the retrofit they fly from NYC regularly
