Play around with the dates. The prices vary a lot. We got the low fare to LAX on Aug 11 and back on 25. But it accepted a stop in LHR, so we're actually on a weekend trip to LIS on 6-8 Aug - and onwards directly from LHR on the 11th. It was only EUR 100 more.
