This would also increase the value of Basic Economy and decrease the value of regular Main Cabin Fares. They're already charging a premium for the possibility to get an upgrade while decreasing your ability to actually upgrade. As an NYC based AA flyer, I think maybe I'll just status match to Delta once these get announced.
