If you have extra time on your next visit, post on FlyerTalk or send me an e-mail and a little FlyerTalk get together can be organized.

As for the Tempe SpringHill Suites, that would seem to be a good choice for the PIR race. I'm sure you're aware that there aren't many lodging choices near the track and thousands of rooms are filled up by race fans. While the SpringHill Suites is a good distance away from the raceway, it's a rather direct route via Interstate 10. I've been in this hotel before. The rooms are fairly nice as far as this sector goes (limited service, extended stay lodging). This isn't my favorite neighborhood (Arizona Mills area), but it is convenient to I-10, the mall, and plenty of chain and Mexican restaurants.

I had some friends from Wisconsin visit for the race this past Novemeber. I reserved them rooms at the new Westin Kierland. The rates were really cheap (especially for race weekend), presumably since they were trying to fill rooms for the opening of the new property.

Post with an update on your experience redeeming the vouchers. Unfortunately I haven't been able to receive an America West voucher (or any airline, for that matter) since December of 2001 . I haven't received an air check in the last few years.

I always used my Continental OnePass number for mileage accrual on vouchers. The miles were always credited. Since this partnership has disolved, I'll probably sell or gift any vouchers received in the future.
