some luxury resorts only offer decent space / pool / etc in houses, and usually have decent number vs single presidential suite

i have really enjoyed the ones i have done, including what is now spa house at sanctuary scottsdale

some luxury resort residences can be rented privately and there are reports here of doing so. most US luxury resorts manage rentals but dont put them in hotel inventory

re second string, such managed rentals may sometimes have disadvantages vs booking accommodations in hotel inventory. but outside US, residences almost always in hotel inventory

some luxury resorts are residence only, including most timbers and some auberge. i think hotel rooms are only to decrease costs to buyers, and occasionally to obtain special funding and or permit
