Using it on the flight is airline dependent. So in terms of using it on the flight I would check with the airline you’re flying. In terms of the battery, I’ve not seen anything that says it’s OK to bring the battery outside of the case as an extra carry-on - i’ve only seen that the machine itself is OK as an extra carry-on piece. But you might also check with the airline on that.
