In the context of this thread though, this is not the problem. I agree that it should be available at time of booking, but DL thinks otherwise. Obviously they want to keep aisle and window C+ seats open to paid upgrades as long as possible. It would be a problem if the website/app said one thing and in practice did another, but in my experience, this option is working exactly how DL intended it to.
