Not really. If you realized you are NEVER getting a black card then to keep trying is silly. If that is the case people become annoyed at Amex for not issuing one even after someone spends Millions of Dollars trying to get it.

I've never heard of any magic threshold or ability to churn to Centurion status, any more than AA passengers can churn to Concierge Key, and that's intentional. That's why I thought chasing it, while simultaneously comparing it to CSR, was silly.
