KA doesn't have enough slack to add extra frequencies. Simple as that.

Good question I'm not sure why. My "sources" are two pilots and an FA (pilot+FA were together, other pilot told me separately and unrelated to first conversation), not management. Although the one pilot is very senior, he still has been wrong in the past...ultimately he's not management, no matter where he stands in the flying hierarchy. It's safe to say is this is being discussed in CX City among the line staff and is expected to commence for at least a limited time.
But I haven't talked to anyone in other departments or management so don't have better info. I suspect others on here will be hearing things too if they haven't already.
