It is not random enforcement. It is systemic change. The AmEx CSR did not do it, it is the computer. The AmEx RATS team may have alerted the system people to flag this.
This is why I do not trust any AmEx CC offers which some claim do not have the "life time" language there. The "life time' is an AmEx blanket policy, whether or not it is stated.
