I quite often fly CE Into LGW or LHR and connect to a UK domestic, but I never have the option of choosing ET for the domestic sector - it has to be CE for both sectors. Being Gold I can already access the lounges anyway so would have no issue taking ET for the short domestic hop.
Booking with Avios on BA via Iberia’s website allows for this.
