Hello all:

I haven't flown ST for a long time. I recently bought a super bargain exEurope biz fare to the US on DL and therefore need advice from you wonderful folks on ST mileage programs. It seems that there is no single awesome ST program, but several folks recommended Korean's SkyPass. I don't fly Korean at all (worried about their poor safety record), and I don't have any travel needs to S Korea. I also don't have status in any mileage program because I just pick whichever airline with a good fare + convenient departure time/route.

Thus, I need to enroll in a ST program that has a lenient expiration policy, reasonable award availability, and low award flight fees. I am based in the Bay Area (SFO, SJC, OAK, but can position from LAX, SNA, SAN, SEA, LAS...). I have heard that DL's program is simply awful. Too bad that I can't bank DL miles with Alaska anymore.
