Just returned from a two night stay at the Kimpton Seafire using the Chase free night certificates. The $60 resort fee was charged on both nights. While I know it's rising to $70 soon, the fact that it includes use of the snorkel gear, any of the non-motorized water equipment, and the GoPro cameras from the Red Sail Sports desk is great. Considering that we also stayed at the Westin for two nights, but their $65 resort fee covers way less.

As IHG platinum from the Chase cc, we were upgraded from a Queen Queen Studio to an Oceanfront Queen Queen Spa Studio. Seems that's the standard upgrade from other reviews I've read. They're not the closest rooms to the beachfront, as I think those are mostly suites, but the room and view were still outstanding.

Mentioned the secret social password, and the check-in agent recognized it, though seemed surprised. Mentioned that I would get a gift, but none given. Went down to the front desk again the next day, the agent had to check with somebody about it, and then came back with a portable power bank charger. I was rather disappointed. Oh well - that was the only complaint I had about my entire stay. The hotel itself and the staff are superb. Kimpton really did well with this property.
