We stayed at the AC Porto in June. The hotel is fine but it's not near much and you'll need to take an Uber/taxi to get to the city center or riverfront.
We loved the Fontecruz in Lisbon. Eclectic decor and convenient location. About a 10 minute walk to the riverfront.
