I had a regular Citi AA Plat card for a year and then I canceled it. Then I started getting mailers addressed to a family member. 9 digit ones. I think there is something in the FAQ about you have to trust. I have always gotten my miles, and insta-approvals.
Worst case, you get approved and you can call in to confirm you will get the bonus points (I have done this and they have said yes). Or even easier, get approved and secure message Citi and ask for the match (usually 60K --> 75K) and when you get a successful confirmation of the match then that tells you all you need to know. This way you do not spend a dime without knowing.
