Carry-on policies depend upon the operating airline.
For checked luggage, one would need to know the whole itinerary. If you're connecting, your bags will be checked through to your final destination. If you're stopping and then re-checking your bags, you should get UA's
economy allowance, not business class allowance, for non-status travelers. This should be indicated on your receipt.
