I am currently considering applying for the CSR card. I currently am looking to earn as many award points as possible and have held a United mileage plus card for years. While I do enjoy the explorer card I hardly fly With United and the yearly spending bonus has recently been removed from this card leaving me no real incentive aside from basic miles to use it. I generally fly about 5-6 times per year which isn’t a lot. My main concern is my ability to book a flight on ultimate awards with someone like delta if needed. Can this be easily done or are only certain flights available to book. I would also like to keep my mileage plus miles active so I would be hoping I could transfer points for miles from this card which it appears that I can. $450 is a hefty fee but the $300 credit seems to offset it. Maybe the Preferred would be better? If I applied now does the travel credit need to be used within the calendar year? Thanks for any insight
Now that your post has been moved into the appropriate forum you can read about the different benefits by opening the WIKI post at the top of the page and clicking on some of the links. I've always found the flts needed on the legacy carriers so you'll have no problem finding DL flts. I think the CSR would be of value to you.
After you get this card you can later apply for the CSP and you'll have over 100K UR pts to use. Looks like the Mileage Plus card may be of little value to you now.
