My AMEX Plat card was cancelled last week by their security officials when about a dozen charges and credits appeared from two European companies I had never had contact with: MANGO (Internet), Palau de Plegamans and BIBIT INTERNET PAYMENTS. A new card was issued to me the next day, and I have been told I will not be responsible for these charges which totalled several thousand dollars, always in small amounts never exceeding 500 Euros.

However, I am just curious if anyone else has had this happen to them, or knows anything about these two companies?

I had my card dinged by a desk clerk at a Cancun hotel a couple of years ago [only used the card on that trip to imprint the security voucher at check-in] but never to this extent.
