A few notes and musings from last nights 2040 FAO - LGW, operated by Titan.

Plane was G-POWK, which is the newer of the A320s, and has the low-density 168-seat config.

Total load was about 20-25 pax, of which 6 were in Club. There's a distinct possibility that BA's "by the way, you've booked with Titan, you can rebook for free on to a 'proper' BA service" email had something to do with the loadings. Schadenfreude moment when the 2040 pushed back spot on time, ahead of the 1945 BA plane to LGW (gate delay), and the 1950 to LHR (late inbound due to LHR meltdown).

4 crew, all friendly, and a refreshing change to see that none of then were wearing the starchy one-size-too-small- that-the-buttons-down-the-front- are-strained regulation BA blouse.

Seats have about the same pitch as BA, but don't recline and the armrest is fixed. Club seats are denoted by a small white BA-branded cover on the A, C, D and F seats. Middle seat is just left empty. We had 4 rows. No curtain or divider. Loo at the front was announced to be for the "exclusive use of passengers in row 1 and 2".

2 crew seats face 1A & 1C. Closely. 1D and 1F face a bulkhead.

Tray table seemed smaller than BA's and didn't slide towards you. The magazine pocket isn't big enough to hold a standard ipad either.

Standard BA menus given out, and then collected back again once you'd chosen. So you had to remember what your pudding was.

Drinks service bountiful, but the champagne and white wine weren't chilled.

Food was standard BA : in this case chilli con carne or chicken breast with sauce and veg.
6 meals (4 chicken, 2 chilli) loaded for 6 pax. This meant the mug GCH (me) who'd selected a seat in row 2 was 6th out of 6 to be asked, and therefore told "your choice is easy : it's chicken".

Was enjoying the hospitality (and the magnificent sunset) too much to notice what the economy passengers were offered.

Early into LGW, straight off and bags came off very quickly.

Everyone :
