You'll probably be sent back on that aircraft, but the interim period will likely be spent in the immigration detention cells if they want to be difficult about things.
These have supposedly improved in recent years, but I can quite honestly say that the cells at OR Tambo used to be (~10 years ago) the most horrendous detention areas I have ever seen (and I've been held at or visited detention facilities in 20+ countries around the world including a bunch in less salubrious parts of Africa).
