I was going to just put that I've been working with Company D since 1999 and explain at the interview the hiring, merging, splitting and then the spin-merging if it came up, but I'm concerned that since Company D has only been in existence since 2017 it might raise red flags if I say I've been with them since 1999. If Company D's HR records indicate that you have been an employee of Company D (that is, your hire/seniority date) since 1999, that's what I would put on the application. Company D - Employment from 1999 to current.
