I hope you did, because if you had left 5 cents for me, the toilet would be the best thing you could expect your brush to be in.

It is just proper etiquette to leave a tip, and not one that may be viewed as demeaning. No tip is better than an insulting one. I leave a tip (as long as I remember to) for every stay... 1 night or multiple nights. However, from reading some of these replies, if you have no couth, you probably won't change your ways, even after reading this:
