Hi marcus613, good to see you on the forum again ^

Let's see if we can help you out a bit. From the united.com homepage, go to "Planning Travel," select "Update Profile," and then log in. Click on "All Preferences," and in the new page scroll down a bit until you get to "Display Preferences." Under "Availability Format" change your setting to "expert," save your changes and you are done.

To find your flight, try to do a dummy booking. If your flight does not show up initially, try in a different class of service until it does. If it does not, it probably means that it is oversold oversold at the moment...

If your flight does not show up, there's a couple more ways you can check if it's zeroed out. One would be using the ITN.NET booking engine, and the other is using the Availability Tool (downloadable app, windoze only, with intermittent access to the CRS). Links for both of these tools can be found in the sticky thread at top of the Mileage Run Forum.

And yes, bumps to happen on 744s

Hope this is helpful.
