I disagree. There are an enormous number of international long-haul widebodies scheduled into PEK now, most of them full up, and the 4-6 a.m. queuing situation at PEK Immigration can be very lengthy. I'd use the flight arriving in the evening. As said above, also better for hotel check-in timing.
