RFID and text messages may have improved baggage handling but tens of millions of bags were handled successfully for decades without them. Delta carries more than 3,000 people a day to AMS. The Netherlands is not sinking under the weight of mishandled bags.
I thought it wasn't sinking because of tons of little Dutch boys tossing bags into the sea. After all, my last two destroyed bags were apparently submerged in water for a period of time, though can't say if was at CDG or AMS.
