You might want to try traveling in a ScotteVest vest or jacket. Their clothing has tons of pockets and certainly can hold as much as a small purse or murse. You will get no backtalk from any FA if your items are being worn inside a vest. (I have no affiliation with the ScotteVest company, just a contented customer.)
