You are quite right - many other threads attest to the fact they will do just that, remove your points. They will usually try to contact you first, generally with an e-mail, which may slip by as juts another one of those HH e-mails flogging some underutilized destinations...

The easiest way, IMO, is to go to the HHonors website, log in and check the "HHonors Activity" tab, and on "View My Stays for the Last [box] Months, select "12" for a quick look at everything that has been credited to your account, at least once a quarter.
