Unsurprising that opinions on NZ's BP and window visibility vary - it is a highly personal matter, and 'not that hard to turn your head slightly' is probably a relative judgement.

I haven't measured it, but the head turn required must be around 120 degrees from the seat-aligned position to peer out the window - for me that is more that is somewhat more than 'slightly' turning my head. Indeed, for my recent CHC-AKL 777 flight in the BP seat (2A), I got up, and then kneeled on the seat 'backwards' to get a decent look out the window at the alps in all their winter finery, and that also allowed me to take a few snaps 'for the record'.

I am not a frequent NZ J flyer, just a dozen or so flights, but enough for me to consider the aisle-facing herring bone layout as not my favourite seating configuration.

... and don't get me started about wall mounted little reading light from the pax across the aisle that seems always to be angled right at me as I am reading or trying to doze off (experienced on 77W/772). Of course, I otherwise sleep very well on the NZ seat, and enjoy the food and service - so not all bad.
